First Look

Lets take a look at the AutoCAD screen components.

1. The major portion of the screen is covered by the Drawing area.
2. Next comes the command line, were AutoCAD commands are entered below the drawing area.
3. On the bottom of the screen a status bar is placed to toggle the various settings in AutoCAD.
4. Other components includes the Title bar, Menu bar, Toolbar (docked & Floating), Tool Palettes.
   

What is AutoCAD ?

AutoCAD is an application software used for designing and drafting 2-dimensional and 3-Dimensional drawings. It is developed and sold by Autodesk Inc.

History : AutoCAD version 1.0 was released in December 1982 for PC's.

Current : AutoCAD 2010 rel. on 24th March 2009
